Receive the Gift of Love In some way we are all outcasts until we meet the Lord. We are thirsty for people to love and accept us. We drink from many wells to try to satisfy our longings. But eventually, we tire of always having to draw water to get our needs met. Each of us asks, "Isn't there someone who will give me water without manipulating me or requiring me to jump through hoops for it? Isn't there someone who will love me just for who I am?" God was pleased to make you His own. Pleased! He didn't just feel sorry for you. He wasn't obligated to you. He chose you because He delights in you. You were never meant to get through life by just hanging in there by the skin of your teeth. You were meant to flourish in the love and acceptance of Almighty God. Although it seems safe and logical to be in charge of your life, being in charge becomes a heavy and lonely responsibility. Your Heavenly Father graciously offers to take your life, protect you, strengthen you, and comfort you on your journey. You need not fear relinquishment, for it leads to freedom, security, and the real you. God has sent His Son Jesus Christ to be love to you and for you. John 3:16 tells us of the supernatural miracle from heaven; that God so loved the world, (you) that He gave His only begotten Son, (Jesus) that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. This is the Miracle of the Gift of Love straight from the Heart of God. May the Love of God dwell richly in your hearts and bring you peace. May these truths become reality to you in the coming year.
