What is the experience and training of your staff?
All Desert Gardens staff have received training in biblical counsel and healing prayer from a variety of known teachers in pastoral-care-equipping ministries. The foundational training for our prayer ministry was received from Elijah House, Inc. whose founders were John and Paula Sandford.
In addition, the two Marriage and Family Therapists have completed their Masters in psychology and are licensed MFT’s. Click on Staff for more details.
How much does it cost?
We ask for a contribution of $65.00 per session. A session is 1 hour and 15 minutes. A couple's joint session is $80.00.
The Marriage and Family Therapists fee per session is $85.00 for individual and $90.00 for couples.
How do I make an appointment?
Call Desert Gardens at 916-353-0474 and leave a message expressing your interest for information in order to schedule an appointment. Your call will usually be returned within 24 hours.
What is the legal status of DesertGardens?
Desert Gardens is a non-profit corporation overseen by an advisory board that meets quarterly. All contributions to Desert Gardens (for services not rendered) are tax deductible. Desert Gardens depends on donations and gifts to fulfill its services.
Will my insurance pay for prayer counseling?
Most insurance companies will not pay for non-professional services. Typically insurance companies only pay for a licensed therapist.
Are you affiliated with any church?
No, we are a non-profit organization available to serve the public requesting our services. If needed references may be available.
